Kiddwaya has received criticism for a video he made in the wake of the passing of South African Amanpiano artiste Costa Titch. Titch collapsed on stage while performing on March 11. Following the news of his death, Kiddwaya urged managers and others involved in the music industry to conduct regular blood checks and mental health assessments for their artists before performances. He also suggested that shows should be canceled and ticket refunds issued if an artist’s health is not optimal. Additionally, he stated, “A lot of these artists are taking drugs to escape the world or to cope with the pressure.”
In response, media personality Do2dtun criticized Kiddwaya for lacking emotional intelligence and questioned why he presumed that Costa Titch’s death was caused by drug abuse.
