On Wednesday, November 8, American rapper Ralo was released from federal prison after serving nearly six years for drug conspiracy charges.

The Atlanta-born hip-hop artist was arrested in April 2018 after police allegedly found nearly $1 million worth of marijuana on his private plane at Dekalb-Peachtree Airport in Atlanta. He pleaded not guilty to the charges in May of that year.

In February 2019, Ralo’s team claimed he rejected a five-year plea deal. He was eventually sentenced to eight years in prison in June, with the judge crediting him with four years of time served. Additionally, the rapper reported that he was credited with “1 & 1/2 year for good time.”

Earlier this year, Ralo denied allegations of cooperating with authorities to receive a reduced sentence.

“Even the brothers you pray with will be praying on your downfall, but I clearly can spend my money on whatever I want, it’s my money,” the rapper wrote in a now-deleted post, addressing rumors about his case. “I know plenty of people willing take a bag right now to take these charges and outsmart the authorities.”
